Scheduling & Questions

You can certainly call during business hours to ask questions but hopefully this page will provide most of the answers.

Every new client who calls to schedule will be asked for their phone number.

Dr. Haskell always wants to speak with any new client to understand their health condition and their needs.

This conversation provides insights and direction, to know how to proceed.

Haskell may advise a short first visit if the person’s needs are simple and straight forward.

If a person’s condition is more complex and chronic, then the first step is to forward our intake questionnaire to your email, to be completed on your computer, saved and attached to a reply email to us.

You will also be asked to forward any lab results from the last 6 months to a year.

Haskell will review your answers to the intake as well as your labs.  If you don’t have labs, this will be explained shortly.

Often there are some labs which have not been done by your physician, or that need to be repeated if they are too old.

He will reach out to explain what labs need to be done before the first visit.

Labs

There are 2 options for getting labs done.

The 1st is, if you have insurance, Haskell will compose a letter with a list of the recommended labs including the proper CPT coding for insurance.

This signed document, forwarded to you by email, is printed and taken to any lab, though we prefer Labcorp of America.

They are a great lab and will help to process the lab costs with your insurance company.

They also have a very fast turnaround, and very often results are forwarded to us via email the next day.

The charge for this letter is $20.

The 2nd option is to pay cash and come to our clinic for a Labcorp blood draw.

If you live quite a distance from our clinic, we can email the Labcorp requisition.  You can print this and take to any of their service centers.

You will still need to pay us cash for these labs.

Again, almost always we will receive lab results the next day.

The cost of labs will depend upon which are recommended.

In either case, option #1 or #2, you will receive instruction about preparing for the lab draw, i.e. fasting, etc.

Consultations

During that initial phone conversation, Haskell may say that a full consult is not necessary, if your condition is simple and not that complex and chronic.

For this shorter visit, labs may not be necessar.

If a longer appointment is necessary, Haskell will likely request labs you already have and possibly new labs, discussed above.

An appointment will not be set until all the labs are complete.

Various times are set for new clients including the following:

  • One-half hour; Usually a simple issue or sometimes people only want to have a dark-field microscope visit. ($100)
  • One hour ($200)
  • One and one-half hour; This is the typical new patient consultation time for more complex health issues. ($250)

During the 1.5 hour consult, you can expect the following;

  • An in-depth review of your present symptoms
  • A chronological review of the development of your symptoms
  • A review of other relevant information such as surgeries, medications, allergies, etc.
  • Review of lab results to understand biochemical and hormonal imbalances and how they relate to your symptoms and condition.
  • Viewing a tiny finger prick of blood under a dark-field microscope.
  • If important, the use of electro-dermal screening, checking energy or chi of various acupuncture points, for additional information which the lab tests may not have revealed.
  • If important, a physical exam.
  • A summary of findings.
  • Explicit notes around suggestions, which might include supplements, herbs, nutrition, lifestyle changes, cleansing and detoxification, and possibly other treatments and therapies offered at our clinic.

Follow up appointments can range between 2 weeks and a month out from the 1st consult.

These visits are typically a 1/2 hour appointment with a cost between $100 and $125.

We do not deal with insurance companies except for the lab letter.  We reserve the right to not respond to an insurance company requesting information.

We do take HSA or Health Saving Account cards.

You will receive copies of all your labs and receipts.

These you will need to take responsibility for their safe keeping.
